Dalian Attractions

Dalian is a seaside city of the Liaoning Province lying in Northeast China. Surrounded by the Yellow Sea to the west and the inland Bohai Sea to the east, Dalian is located at the tip of the Liaodong Peninsular. This second largest and most prosperous city in Liaoning after the capital city of Shenyang, is mainly known for its pleasant weather and numerous beaches (1,906 km of coastlines) where travelers and citizens come to relax when the sun is shinning. The climate is a monsoon-influenced humid continental one that makes the enjoyment of baths possible and famous all over northern Asia. Composed of 6 districts, 3 county-level cities and 1 county, Dalian also governs about 260 surrounding islands and reefs. It is a major harbor to northeastern Asia and has cooperations with more than 140 countries. But the city also displays many historical, cultural and natural features that are likeable to many travelers having the chance to stop by. The city is home to a certain number of ethnic minorities and nationalities such as the Han, Manchu, Mongol, Xibe, Miao, Uyghur, Zhuang, Korean and Russian. Visiting Dalian is experiencing a Chinese seaside town full of energy where history, cultural heritages and natural sceneries mingle for an amazing stay.

Conference Venue

Dalian Xinghai Park is situated at the southwestern side of Dalian City and borders Xinghai Bay, from which it takes the name "Xinghai Park". There is a huge peculiar and rare stone standing in the Xinghai Bay. According to the traditional legend, the huge stone was the "Star Stone" from the outer space. So, the bay was called Xinghai Bay and the park beside Xinghai Bay was called Xinghai Park.

Lvshun is a district of Dalian City, which is the pearl of Bohai Sea. Lvshun is located at the south-most place of Liaodong Peninsula, about 45 kilometers far from the center of Dalian City. To its east is the Yellow Sea, and to its west is the Bohai Sea; to the south, it mirrors the Shandong Peninsula across the sea, and to the north, it connects to the inland of Northeast China. It is the most convenient maritime gateway of Northeast China to the Pacific Ocean.

Located in the north of Zhuanghe City, Bingyu Valley Scenic Area is about 40 kilometers from Zhuanghe City and about 240 kilometers from Dalian City. The centre area of Bingyugou Provincial Level Tourist Resort has an area of 47 square kilometers, the protection area of the Bingyugou Valley Scenic Area is 64 square kilometers, and the total area of the Bingyugou Valley Scenic Area is 110 square kilometers.

Located on the northeast of Lushengkou District, the East Cockscomb Hill was the major battlefield of Russo-Japanese War in 1904. Therefore, a number of historical sites are found in the East Cockscomb Hill, such as the Exhibition Hall of Russo-Japanese War, North Fortress, Erlong Mountain Fortress, Wangtai Fortress, etc. In order to occupy Lvshun City, Russia and Japan started a bloody war in the East Cockscomb Hill in 1904, and the Wujia Village at the foot of the hill was suffered from the war; among 80 houses, only five houses were survived.

Bangchuidao scenic area is about 9 kilometers (some 5 miles) away from the center of Dalian City, located in the east of the Binhai Road. The three Chinese words of Bangchuidao is written by Chairman Mao Zedong. Chairman Mao has not come to Dalian once, which is a great pity for the citizens of Dalian. However, where do the three words of Bangchundao come from? Actually, it comes from a poem of Ye Jianying, which is copied by Chairman Mao. Bangchuidao Scenic Area is a famous seashore resort combining marvelous scenery of hills, sea, islet and beach.

Tiger Beach Ocean Park is located in Dalia's Binhai District; it is China's largest beach and most modern beachside resort and has been awarded 5A-class attraction. Tiger Beach Ocean Park is a key part of the tourist landscape of Dalian, offering tourists a chance to go shopping, enjoy Dalian's unique coastline or simply relax. The total site is over 4000 meters in size with some of China's most spectacular coastline; and the main sights here include marine animals, sea creatures, corals, Animal Show Arena, Bird Forest, Four-dimension Theatre, Bungee Jumping, Southpole Village, etc.
